Inside the Coliseo de Puerto Rico, Michael Cole and Corey Graves welcome us to WWE Backlash 2023.
MATCH #1: WWE RAW WOMEN’S CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH – “THE EST OF THE WWE” BIANCA BELAIR (WWE RAW WOMEN’S CHAMPION) v/s IYO SKY
It’s time for our opening match and it’s scheduled for one fall and is for the WWE RAW Women’s Championship! Making her way to the ring first is the current WWE RAW Women’s Champion – “The EST of the WWE” Bianca Belair! Cole reminds us that if Belair is victorious tonight, she will be the longest reigning WWE RAW Women’s Champion in modern history. Now it’s time for her opponent. Making her way to the squared circle is the challenger – IYO SKY. IYO is ⅓ of Damage CTRL and is making her way to the ring without her stablemates. Once both competitors are in the ring, WWE Ring Announcer: Samantha Irvin makes the ring introductions for the champion and challenger. The bell rings to officially begin this one-on-one match for the World Wrestling Entertainment RAW Women’s Championship between World Wrestling Entertainment RAW Women’s Champion: “The EST of the WWE” Bianca Belair defending against IYO SKY. It appears the WWE Universe at the Coliseo de Puerto Rico is solidly behind the challenger. Trending #1 right now on Twitter is #WWEBacklash. Cole reminds us that both Belair and Sky will be exclusively competing on WWE Friday Night SmackDown once the 2023 WWE Draft begins this Monday. I’ve got to say…this has been one of Bianca’s better matches in a long time. During the match, Bayley and Dakota Kai come out to the ring and distract Belair. Despite all of the help Kai and Bayley gave to SKY, this match ends when Belair nails SKY with the KOD before pinning her to retain the WWE RAW Women’s Championship. Bianca has made history and is now the longest WWE RAW Women’s Champion in modern history.

Backstage in Bad Bunny’s locker room we see him getting ready for his match when WWE Hall of Famer: Rey Mysterio comes in. The two of them say a bunch of stuff in Spanish. We hear a knock on the door and WWE Legend: Savio Vega enters the room. He’s holding a kendo stick decorated in Puerto Rico’s colors. The three of them continue to talk in Spanish as the segment comes to a close.
At ringside, Cole and Graves discuss the 2023 WWE Draft and the upcoming WWE World Heavyweight Championship Tournament which begins this Monday.

It’s time for our next match! Making his way to the squared circle, accompanied by his manager – MVP, is “The Nigerian Giant” Omos! Cole reminds us that Omos is a free agent and will be able to go wherever he wants. WWE Backlash 2023 is brought to us by Xfinity and Mike’s Harder Lemonade. It’s time for his opponent’s entrance. Making his way to the ring is Seth “Freakin” Rollins! While Rollins is taking in the WWE Universe singing his theme song to him, Omos kicks him from behind. The bell rings to officially begin this one-on-one match between Seth “Freakin” Rollins against “The Nigerian Giant” Omos, with MVP in his corner. This match ends when Rollins nails Omos with a Curb Stomp from the top rope before pinning him to win this match.

MATCH #3: TRIPLE-THREAT MATCH FOR THE WWE UNITED STATES CHAMPIONSHIP – AUSTIN THEORY (WWE UNITED STATES CHAMPION) v/s “THE ALL MIGHTY” BOBBY LASHLEY v/s BRONSON REED
Our next match is a Triple-Threat Match for the WWE United States Championship! Making his way to the ring first is the first of two challengers – “The All Mighty” Bobby Lashley! Cole reminds us that Lashley will be performing on WWE Friday Night SmackDown once the draft begins. It’s time for the introduction of the second challenger. Making his way to the squared circle next is the second of two challengers – Bronson Reed! It’s now time for the introduction of the champion. Making his way to the squared circle is the current WWE United States Champion: Austin Theory! Cole reminds us that Theory will also be performing on WWE Friday Night SmackDown when the draft takes effect. The bell rings to officially begin this Triple-Threat Match for the World Wrestling Entertainment U.S. Championship between World Wrestling Entertainment U.S. Champion: Austin Theory defending against “The All Mighty” Bobby Lashley and Bronson Reed. Trending #1 on Twitter is #WWEBacklash! This match ends when Lashley spears Reed but Theory throws Lashley out of the ring and pins Reed to retain the WWE United States Championship!

It’s time for the next match and it’s for the World Wrestling Entertainment SmackDown Women’s Championship! Making her way to the squared circle first is the current World Wrestling Entertainment SmackDown Women’s Champion and a member of The Judgment Day – Rhea Ripley! This WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship Match is sponsored by Mike’s Harder Lemonade. It’s now time for the entrance of the challenger. Making her way to the ring is the challenger and a member of the LWO (Latino World Order) – Zelina Vega! Vega’s family is at ringside. Once both competitors are in the ring, Samantha Irvin makes the in-ring introductions. Vega is shown crying after Irvin introduces her. Cole tells us that Vega told him earlier today she is dedicating this match to her father who passed away in the terrorist attacks in New York City on September 11, 2001. The bell rings to officially begin this World Wrestling Entertainment SmackDown Women’s Championship Match between WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion: Rhea Ripley against Zelina Vega. Cole informs us that Zelina Vega is the cousin of TNA (Total Nonstop Action now known as IMPACT! Wrestling) Original – The Amazing Red. The match ends when Ripley nails Vega with The Riptide before pinning her to retain the WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship.

MATCH #5: SAN JUAN STREET FIGHT – BAD BUNNY v/s DAMIEN PRIEST
It’s now time for the first of our double main event at WWE Backlash 2023! This is a San Juan Street Fight. Making his way to the squared circle first is a member of The Judgement Day – Damien Priest! Cole says that Priest is wearing the same jacket that he wore at WWE WrestleMania 37, when he teamed up with Bad Bunny to defeat The Miz & John Morrison. WWE Backlash 2023 is sponsored by WWE 2K23! Graves mentions that Priest said he’s wearing all white because “in this story I’m the good guy”. It’s now time for his opponent. Making his way to the squared circle is Bad Bunny! Bunny stops and walks back to the entrance, takes a sheet off to reveal a shopping cart with hardcore items. Trending #1 in the United States on Twitter is #WWEBacklash. The bell rings to officially begin this San Juan Street Fight between Bad Bunny against Damien Priest. During the match, Priest takes Bunny near the tech area and performs a Broken Arrow through a table. Adam Pearce and WWE officials come out and try to stop the match but Priest says Bunny isn’t done because he’s not done with him. During the match, Dominik Mysterio and Finn Bálor make come to the ring and double team Bad Bunny until Rey Mysterio come out. Then Carlito comes out. Then Savio Vega comes out. And then the remaining members of the LWO come out and the two members of The Judgment Day get their butts kicked and are chased back to the locker room. This match ends when Bunny nails Priest with a Bunny Destroyer before pinning him.
THE WINNER: BAD BUNNY via pinfall
After the match Carlito, Savio Vega, and the LWO come to the ring and celebrate Bunny’s victory.

The bell rings to officially begin this Six-Man Tag Team Match between Riddle & Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions: “The Prize Fighter” Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn against “The Street Champ” Solo Sikoa & The Usos (Jimmy & Jey Uso). It will be Sami Zayn and Jey Uso starting the match for their respective teams. During the match Jimmy accidentally superkicked Jey Uso when Kevin Owens ducked. Trending #1 right now in the United States is #WWEBacklash. During the match, tension rises between Jey and Solo at one point Solo looks like he’s going to hit Jey with the Samoan Spike. The match ends when Solo nails Riddle with the Samoan Spike instead and pins him to win the match for his team.

It’s now time for the second of our double main event! Making his way to the ring first is “The American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes! This match is sponsored by the Netflix series Fubar. It’s now time for the entrance of his opponent. Making his way to the ring is “The Beast Incarnate” Brock Lesnar! Cole reminds us that Lesnar is a free agent and can appear on both shows. Before Lesnar enters the ring and the bell can ring to begin the match, Rhodes attacks Lesnar first and hits him with the steel steps and several chair shots until both men get in the ring and the referee rings the bell to officially begin this match between “The American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes against “The Beast Incarnate” Brock Lesnar. During the match, Cody removes the turnbuckle pad by accident and later on Lesnar runs towards Cody but nails the now-exposed steel. Due to hitting the steel, Lesnar begins to bleed. This match ends when Lesnar applies the Kimura Lock on Cody but Cody shifts his body-weight and ends up pinning Lesnar to win the match.
