REVIEW: WWE 2K25

In the world of sports-entertainment and professional wrestling, the first couple of months of a new year doesn’t just mean we’re on the Road to WrestleMania, but it also means we’re on the road to to a new WWE 2K video game and 2K Sports did not disappoint with their newest release – WWE 2K25!

WWE 2K25 features three versions: the Standard Version with “The Original Tribal Chief” Roman Reigns and his “Wiseman” Paul Heyman on the cover, The Deadman Version with WWE Hall of Famer The Undertaker on the cover, and The Bloodline Edition with Reigns, Heyman, Solo Sikoa, “Main Event” Jey Uso, Jimmy Uso, Sami Zayn, “The Samoan Werewolf” Jacob Fatu, Tama Tonga, and Tonga Loa on the cover.

Only The Bloodline Edition and The Deadman Edition digital versions are available now. The Standard Edition will become available this Friday, March 14th.

There is so much to do on WWE 2K25 that if I reviewed everything, it would be a 20 page review! So let’s discuss the 2K Showcase: The Bloodline Dynasty.

One of the things I really enjoyed was Paul Heyman as the narrator. You couldn’t have asked for a better narrator as no one knows the Anoa’i, Fatu and Maivia families better than The Wiseman. A favorite moment of mine was when it was time to relive “The Head of the Table” Roman Reigns against Seth Rollins from WWE Royal Rumble 2022. Heyman, as usual, stole the show with his “anti-promo” for this particular match. No words I can provide would do the segment justice – you have to experience it yourself.

The is year’s showcase pays tribute to one of the biggest families in professional wrestling history – The Bloodline. Throughout this mode, you will play as various members of this iconic family and either relive their memorable moments, such as Yokozuna defeating “The Immortal” Hulk Hogan for the WWE Championship at WWE King of the Ring’93, or change the outcome like when John Cena defeated “The Samoan Bulldozer” Umaga to retain the WWE Championship at WWE New Year’s Revolution 2007, or create history with a dream match such as The Wild Samoans (Afa & Sika) facing off with The Dudley Boyz (Bubba Ray & D’Von Dudley) in a Tables Match! These are just a few of the matches. Other superstars you can play as are The Islanders (Haku & Tama), Nia Jax, Tamina, Rikishi, and “The High Chief” Peter Maivia to name a few.

Once you complete all 16 matches, including the introduction match, there is a surprise match at the end. All I will say about this final match in the 2K Showcase is…who will you acknowledge?

In addition to this awesome showcase, the WWE Universe can also visit The Island, which is a new experience for WWE 2K players, where they can complete challenges, visit WWE-themed areas, and play against other players. The premise of The Island is that The OTC is giving competitors the chance to impress him enough to win a WWE contract. Thus far, I have not impressed my Tribal Chief enough but I’m still trying.

With these two great features, along with a MyGM mode – that can now be played online against other general managers, new features and content for MyFACTION, a new story for MyRISE, intergender matches, the debut of the Bloodline Rules and Underground matches, barricade diving, and the return of Chain Wrestling and promos, WWE 2K25 has delivered in a big way!

WWE 2K25 could be the greatest combat sports game ever! This reviewer gives it 5 out of 5 stars!
