TNA Wrestling has announced that they’ve “…come to terms on the release of Eric Young, effective immediately.”
Young’s debut match was against “Suicide” Sean Ball on October 14, 1998, following training under Waldo Von Erich. He then received more training from Scott D’Amore and Chris Kanyon. He would make his debut with Total Nonstop Action in January 2004 as part of D’Amore’s stable, Team Canada.
Eric captured his first title in TNA Wrestling when he and fellow Team Canada stablemate, Bobby Roode, defeated “Cowboy” James Storm & Christopher Daniels for the NWA World Tag Team Championship. He would go on to win every championship there is in TNA, including the TNA World Heavyweight Championship.
Young made his official debut with WWE on the October 12th episode of NXT, when he appeared as the leader of Sanity. During his time with WWE, he would win the NXT Tag Team Championship.
This past Sunday, Eric lost to Ricky Sosa during the TNA Slammiversary 2026 Pre-Show. You can follow him at @TheEricYoungIG on Instagram and at @TheEricYoung on X.
He has yet to make an official statement regarding his release.
