EXCLUSIVE Interview with Jake Something

No. 1 Contender for the TNA X-Division Championship Talks About Mustafa Ali and More Ahead of Their Championship Match This Sunday at Rebellion

GREENFIELD, Indiana, April 15, 2024 – This past Friday, Michael Weaver, Jr. had the opportunity to interview Jake Something. Jake is on the Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA Wrestling) roster and currently is the number one contender for the TNA X Division Championship. Jake will challenge the TNA X Division Champion Mustafa Ali this Saturday, April 20 at TNA Rebellion.

Jake spoke on a number of topics ranging from his childhood, his name, Mustafa Ali, the TNA X Division Championship and more. You can watch the full interview below:

Here’s a few quotes from the interview:

JAKE SOMETHING ON HIS UPCOMING TNA X DIVISION TITLE MATCH…
“I’m excited.  Nervous, but in a way where I’m just like, I want it to be now.  [laughs] I want to get there.  But I’m excited, you know, very [excited].”

JAKE SOMETHING ON SIGNING HIS CONTRACT WITH IMPACT WRESTLING…
“It meant everything.  Actually, I have that contract framed in my office.  It meant a lot to me.”

JAKE SOMETHING ON JAKE SOMETHING…
“So Jake Something is actually who I’ve been for a long time.  So really that [Changing his name to Jake Something.] was becoming who I am.  The changes were anything prior to that.”

JAKE SOMETHING ON WHY HE’S JAKE SOMETHING…
“No, I’m like, I don’t think names matter that much.  You know?  There’s a lot of people, like when I broke into wrestling, you were kinda told you needed a good fancy name.  Or you needed a name that sounds tough.  Or sounds this or that cause that’s an image you have to portray.  But a lot of times I’m seeing these people that have these nicknames, like Bruiser, or whatever, not Bruiser Brody because he’s awesome, but like today’s day and age where these people have these tough sounding nicknames, and they’re not tough. (laughs) You know?  So a lot of these people NEED a name to bolster themselves up and I don’t need that.  So I can take any basic word and make it mean everything.”

Don’t forget, you can watch Jake Something challenge TNA X Division Champion Mustafa Ali for the TNA X Division Championship this Saturday at TNA Rebellion. Rebellion will air live from the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas, Nevada and exclusively on pay-per-view! For more information on TNA Rebellion, visit https://www.TNAWrestling.com/rebellion-2024/.
