Pyrotechnic blasts through the Greensboro Coliseum as Excalibur welcomes us to AEW Revolution. He’s joined by Tony Schiavone and Nigel McGuinness.
MATCH #1: AEW TNT CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH – CHRISTIAN CAGE (AEW TNT CHAMPION) [WITH: THE PATRIARCHY (“THE PRODIGY” NICK WAYNE, KILLSWITCH, & MOTHER WAYNE)] versus DANIEL GARCIA
It’s time for our first match and it’s for the AEW TNT CHAMPIONSHIP! Making his way to the squared circle first is the challenger – DANIEL GARCIA! It’s now time for the entrance and introduction of his opponent. Making his way to the squared circle next is the AEW TNT CHAMPION – CHRISTIAN CAGE! He’s accompanied by “THE PRODIGY” NICK WAYNE, KILLSWITCH, and MOTHER WAYNE! The bell rings to officially begin this ALL ELITE WRESTLING TNT CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH between the ALL ELITE WRESTLING TNT CHAMPION – Christian Cage, with THE PATRIARCHY (“The Prodigy” Nick Wayne, Killswitch, and Mother Wayne) in his corner, against the challenger Daniel Garcia. This match ends when Cage delivered The Killswitch to Garcia and pinned him, after Nick Wayne hit a neckbreaker on the challenger behind the referee’s back, to retain the AEW TNT Championship.

Backstage, Lexy Nair tells us she interviewed Danielson earlier. He told her that he knows Kingston’s strengths and weaknesses. He’s 100% sure he will make Eddie tap out tonight.
MATCH #2: AEW CONTINENTAL CROWN CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH – EDDIE KINGSTON (AEW CONTINENTAL CROWN CHAMPION) versus “THE AMERICAN DRAGON” BRYAN DANIELSON
It’s time for our next match, which is for the ALL ELITE WRESTLING CONTINENTAL CROWN CHAMPIONSHIP! Making his way to the squared circle first is the challenger – “THE AMERICAN DRAGON” BRYAN DANIELSON!
Backstage, Renee Paquette tells us this match is about respect for Kingston and a lack of respect from Danielson. Danielson has called him the king of the bums and Kingston is determined to get a handshake from Danielson at the end of the match.
It’s now time for the entrance and introduction of Danielson’s opponent. Making his way to the squared circle is the ALL ELITE WRESTLING CONTINENTAL CROWN CHAMPION – EDDIE KINGSTON! After the match, Taven and Bennett came to the ring to celebrate Strong’s victory. Then Kyle O’Reilly entered the ring. He hugged Strong before the fans begin a chant of “WELCOME BACK!” Strong tells Bennett to take his Undisputed Kingdom shirt off and give it to O’Reilly. Kyle places it on Strong’s shoulder, whispers something in his ear and leaves the ring.

MATCH #5: FTR (CASH WHEELER & DAX HARWOOD) versus JON MOXLEY & CLAUDIO CASTAGNOLI
Our next match is a tag team match. Making their way to the squared circle first is JON MOXLEY & CLAUDIO CASTAGNOLI! It’s time for the entrance and introduction of their opponents. Making their way to the squared circle next is FTR! FTR is a tag team comprised of CASH WHEELER and DAX HARWOOD! The bell rings to officially begin this tag team match between FTR (Cash Wheeler & Dax Harwood) against Jon Moxley & Claudio Castagnoli. It appears it will be Dax Harwood and Claudio Castagnoli beginning the match first for their respective tag teams. This match ends when Moxley forces Harwood to submit to the rear-naked chokehold.

It’s now time for our next match and it’s for the AEW WOMEN’S WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP! Making her way to the squared circle first is the challenger – “THE VIRTUOSA” DEONNA PURRAZZO! It’s now time for the entrance and introduction of her opponent. Making her way to the squared circle is the AEW WORLD CHAMPION, “TIMELESS” TONI STORM! She’s accompanied to the ring by MARIAH MAY, who is dressed like Storm before she was “Timeless,” and her butler LUTHER. The bell rings to officially begin this ALL ELITE WRESTLING WOMEN’S WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH between the ALL ELITE WRESTLING WOMEN’S WORLD CHAMPION, “Timeless” Toni Storm, with Mariah May and Luther in her corner, against “The Virtuosa” Deonna Purrazzo. Don Callis has joined Excalibur and Tony Schiavone at the commentators’ table. It’s now time for the entrance and introduction of his opponent. Making his way to the squared circle next is “THE AERIAL ASSASSIN” WILL OSPREAY! The bell rings to officially begin this one-on-one match between “The Aerial Assassin” Will Ospreay against “The Alpha” Konosuke Takeshita. After an UNBELIEVABLE, HARD FOUGHT, BACK-AND-FORTH match between two men who gave it their ALL, in the end Ospreay pinned Takeshita to win the match.

After the match, the ROH Television Champion, Kyle Fletcher came to the ring to congratulate his best friend. Excalibur announced that on Wednesday, best friends ROH Television Champion: Kyle Fletcher will battle “The Aerial Assassin” Will Ospreay one-on-one at AEW Dynamite!

He’s accompanied to the ring by PRINCE NANA! It’s now time for the entrance of the next participant. Making his way to the squared circle is the second challenger – “HANGMAN” ADAM PAGE! It’s now time for the MAIN EVENT for AEW Revolution! This is the last match for “THE ICON” STING! This is also a TORNADO TAG TEAM MATCH for the ALL ELITE WRESTLING WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP. First, making his way to the squared circle is “NATURE BOY” RIC FLAIR! It’s now time for the entrance and introduction of the special guest time keeper. Making his way to the ring is RICKY”THE DRAGON”STEAMBOAT! Emmy winner PAUL WALTER HAUSER is shown in the front row. NIKITA KOLOFF, MAGNUM TA, and SCOTTY RIGGS are shown in the front row. It’s now time for the entrance and introduction of the challengers. Making their way to the squared circle are THE YOUNG BUCKS – MATTHEW & NICHOLAS JACKSON! It’s now time for the entrance and introduction of their opponents. Making his way to the squared circle first – ½ of the AEW WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS, DARBY ALLIN! It’s time for the entrance and introduction of his partner. A video package shows “The Icon” Sting sitting in a theater and watching photos and videos of his career airs. The fans at the Greensboro Coliseum begin to chant “THANK YOU STING!” In the video, Sting says “It’s showtime! It’s showtime for the last time. LET’S DO THIS!” Sting’s son walk out to the stage first, one dressed as a blond Sting from the early 1990s and another son dressed as Sting when he was a member of nWo Wolfpac. Making his way to the squared circle is ½ of the AEW WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS, “THE ICON” STING! After Allin attacks The Young Bucks, the bell rings to officially begin this Tornado Tag Team Match for the AEW World Tag Team Championship. During the match, Darby goes through a plate of glass and begins bleeding all over his back. The Young Bucks send Sting through a table two times and then through a plate of glass. They try to get a championship belt but Steamboat wouldn’t let them have it. Flair goes and covers Sting’s body to protect him but the Bucks superkick him. They then superkick Steamboat who was on the ring apron. This match ends after Darby returns, hits a Coffin Drop before Sting forces ½ of The Young Bucks to submit to The Scorpion Lock.
THE WINNERS: AND STILL AEW WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS, DARBY ALLIN & “THE ICON” STING, VIA SUBMISSION
Darby grabs a microphone and says there are still three minutes left on the pay-per-view and asks the crowd to show some love for Sting. They begin to chant “THANK YOU STING!” You can see Darby fighting his emotions. Sting says he’s been thanking the fans since March 1988. He thanks Ric Flair. He says Greensboro was incredible in 1988 and they’re still incredible. He just wanted tonight to be a night fans won’t forget. A night of wrestling that will be itched in their minds. This will be a night he will never forget. He thanks Greensboro once again. The fans chant “THANK YOU STING!” He thanks Darby and calls him the greatest tag team partner he’s ever had. He knew Darby was a risk taker when he first watched him wrestle. Sting says he was a risk taker when he started wrestling and even though he’s older, he likes to think he’s still a risk taker. The fans begin to chant “YOU STILL GOT IT!” Darby whispers something in Sting’s ear and Sting says, “Hold on, I’m getting cues.” and the pay-per-view broadcast ends like that.
I’m sorry but that’s a horrible way to end what was a FANTASTIC pay-per-view with UNBELIEVABLE action. I really think AEW could have told the pay-per-view providers to extend their TV time. Especially since a replay of the pay-per-view airs directly after.
